Events through out the year on The Isle of Wight Isle of Wight Festival - a music festival which takes place annually in Newport on Seaclose Park. Cowes Week - one of the Island's busiest weeks, when 8,500 competitors and more than 100,000 spectators coverage on Cowes for the largest sailing regattas in the world. Isle of Wight Speedway - from Easter to October, Smallbrook Stadium in Ryde host 500cc motorbike racing, no brakes, no gears. Isle of Wight take part in the British National League and race every Tuesday evening. A great night out for all the family. Shanklin Regatta - coinciding with Shanklin's carnival week, the towns regatta features many free afternoon events and races on the beach and esplanade. Bestival - provides different qualities to the Isle of Wight Festival. Usually held in September at Robin Hill, well known for it's fancy dress themed days. Garlic Festival - arrive hungry to this event so you can try all the garlic flavoured goodies. From hot crusty bread to mussels, lamb, beer and even ice cream!
